Case Studies

Lee Cooke has over seventeen years of experience in the publishing industry, both self-publishing via printing companies as well as print-on-demand publishing services such as Amazon KDP, Lulu and Blurb. He has also assisted with copy-editing services on a range of titles. Some examples of the work undertaken are shown below:

The works he first assisted with were all non-fiction; two volumes (one over 700 pages) dealt with the complete history of the Mental Health Service in the UK, based on extensive research by a retired Mental Health Social Worker, Mr Barone Hopper. Mr Hopper then went on to produce a book about his life as a ‘Nuclear Veteran’ covering his time and that of other veterans on Christmas Island during the Cold War, as well as a volume relating to sanctuary and Frith. These volumes are regrettably now extremely hard to come by, due to the authors passing. The covers are shown below and further information is also on this page on Amazon HERE.

A review of Volume 1 is available to view above.

He has produced a video documentary and a booklet to accompany it, based on a script and information supplied to him by Colin Wells, who runs the GreenWoodWorker project at Amberley Museum in West Sussex. The documentary was also filmed by him on location.

This documentary can be viewed split into chapters, HERE, and the booklet is available from Amazon UK HERE. The booklet contains stills from the documentary and is partly based on a transcript of the video itself.

Another project was to help a cartoonist who works in watercolours to make available two volumes of his work. These were produced in such a way as to look like an artists sketchbook, in A4 landscape, with the binding at the top of the book instead of the side. These volumes of work are available from Amazon; HERE for Volume 1 and HERE for Volume 2.

The most recent work is a collection of high quality photographs compiled by the author from his extensive collection of photographs that have been taken all over the world. The collection, entitled ‘Wondering Wandering’ is being produced in multiple volumes, with the first two now being available, one in black and white and one in colour. These volumes are directly available from the author HERE.

A set of Youtube slideshows promoting the books and giving an overview of them has also been produced by Lee Cooke Publishing and are linked below:

Lee Cooke has also produced two non-fiction titles, as well as a collection of Science Fiction short stories.
